When Ready Towing came to us with a challenge, it wasn’t a small one. Their fleet of over 300 tow trucks needed new signage installed, and the process had to be efficient, consistent, and scalable. At the time, one truck wrap was taking a full day to complete — far too long when multiplied across hundreds of vehicles. That kind of downtime simply wasn’t practical for a business that relies on keeping trucks on the road.
With 300 trucks needing signage at Wrap Wise Brisbane, the original process just wasn’t sustainable. One full day per truck meant months of installs, lost productivity, and unnecessary pressure on the installation team. Ready needed a way to get the work done faster without sacrificing quality.
This is where Wrap Consulting stepped in. We designed a tailored Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) specifically for their signage production. Every step of the process was broken down — from prepping the trucks, templating, film cutting, and panel alignment, to final quality checks.
The goal was simple: eliminate wasted time, create consistency, and ensure every installer knew exactly what to do and how to do it. By streamlining the workflow into repeatable, structured steps, we built a system that could handle the sheer scale of the project.
The impact was immediate. Install times dropped from one full day per truck to just four hours. That’s a 75% reduction in time.
Put into perspective:
-
Before: 300 trucks × 1 day each = 300 days of installs.
-
After: 300 trucks × 4 hours each = 1,200 hours (about 150 days).
That’s a savings of 150 full working days — time that would have been wasted without a proper SOP. More importantly, the trucks spent less time off the road, meaning Ready Towing could keep their operations running while still refreshing their fleet.
This project highlights the importance of Standard Operating Procedures in the wrap and signage industry. An SOP isn’t just about saving time — it’s about creating scalable systems that keep quality high while removing unnecessary stress on the team. With a process everyone can follow, efficiency skyrockets, errors drop, and businesses can confidently take on larger projects.
At Wrap Consulting, that’s what we do — we turn complicated, time-consuming jobs into efficient, repeatable systems that deliver results. Ready Towing’s fleet is now proof of how powerful the right workflow can be.
